About Us
The story of Bakırtaş began in 1985 when the late Mustafa Bakırtaş opened a small hardware store in the Kırkpınar neighborhood of Sapanca. What started as a modest family business has grown into a trusted brand in Turkey’s construction and home improvement industry, guided by honesty, transparency, and a passion for quality.
From a young age, we worked side by side with our father, learning the value of hard work and ethical business. Today, Bakırtaş Hardware Store proudly offers more than 15,000 product lines and is one of the most comprehensive building supply stores in the region, serving hundreds of individual and corporate customers with dedication.
In 2010, we launched USTAMKAPIDA, a full-service renovation and construction company. Since then, we have completed hundreds of renovation projects and dozens of turnkey residential builds, bringing lasting value and aesthetics to homes and businesses across Sapanca and surrounding areas. Our commitment to clear communication, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction has made USTAMKAPIDA one of the most preferred names in our region.
Our journey is deeply rooted in our family values. Our grandfather, Hasan Bakırtaş, worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for STFA Construction Co., a respected global construction firm. He helped install the massive pillars of Istanbul’s Galata Bridge using marine cranes and later worked at port projects in Libya. Even after his retirement, STFA’s engineers and executives continued to call him during holidays as if he were a member of their own family.
Our father Mustafa Bakırtaş also spent time working alongside our grandfather in Libya, learning not just technical skills, but the true meaning of respect, kindness, and trust. These values are the foundation of everything we do.
Our growth extended beyond borders. Through our export company, Jegand Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şti., we have become a key distributor of high-quality building materials, exporting to the USA, Canada, Europe, and Africa. In the United States, our North Carolina-based company MIB SURFACES LLC provides both materials and professional installation services, allowing us to carry the Bakırtaş name across continents.
We also launched nalburum, our e-commerce brand, to provide high-quality tools and construction supplies online. While that operation is currently paused, our experience in digital trade continues to shape our strategic growth.
Beyond trade, we deeply believe in social responsibility. Our GoSapanca initiative promotes the natural beauty and cultural richness of our hometown, Sapanca, helping local and international tourists experience meaningful travel, authentic cuisine, and peaceful accommodation. This project is a heartfelt tribute to the town that raised us.
We also invest in agricultural awareness and healthy food initiatives to help build a more livable future for the next generations. By promoting reliable producers, safe agricultural methods, and verified products, we aim to create a conscious consumer community.
